Yesterday I posted a WWII-era cookbook of meat recipes, so, as a good, old-fashioned German-American girl, I felt the need to follow it up with potatoes.
In honor of my maternal grandfather, who, it is said, would fill his dinner plate with a heap of nothing but mashed 'taters (with butter or gravy, didn't matter), and then, when the plate was empty, he'd come back to get a serving of everything else on the table, plus another "normal-sized" dollop of spuds, I offer you this little booklet, in two parts.
