What one family eats, plans to eat, dreams of eating. Plus, other food and kitchen-related stuff from the home of steak-and-potatoes, pie and fresh green beans from the garden.

More than Fry Bread: 1977 booklet, Indian Cookin'

Here's another one The Bat views as a prize in her collection. I'm not sure where she picked it up – might have been on a trip out west, might have been an auction, might have been a gift. Wherever its origins, it has a select few recipes she doesn't ever want to lose, now that it's gone out of print.

I, on the other hand, look at it from a double-whammy perspective: it fits into my two big collection obsessions quite nicely. First and foremost, it's a nifty little cookbook, and second...

…it's mailable as a postcard.

An expensive postcard, granted, but still a postcard.

So this little booklet from my teen years makes me doubly happy, as well as more than a little bit hungry.

And I now offer its contents to you. I hope I don't get into trouble for it.
